How Good is the Selection at Audible? - Results of Our Test
Not long ago, we used an Audible free trial to join the site, and kept our membership afterwards. We've bought a good selection of audio books, and here is our assessment of the selection available at audible:
- Bestsellers -
Whether a book is a current bestseller or a popular title from a few years ago, you should have no problem finding it on Audible. If a title is more than 10-20 years old, our results were mixed. The most popular bestsellers were all available, but less notable bestsellers were sometimes not available.
- Classics -
We had no issues finding all the major classics, including more modern classics like Atlas Shrugged, or older titles like King Lear or Paradise Lost.
- Moderately Successful Fiction Titles -
You'll find some titles by moderately popular writers, but likely not all.
- Academic Books -
You're joking, right? You can find some speeches by famous professors, but it's unlikely you'll find any academic books, unless they are highly acclaimed titles that have crossed over to mainstream readers (e.g. Closing of the American Mind, etc).
